Description

More Preludes and Voluntaries (England, c.1700) for treble [alto] recorder solo. Edited by David Lasocki. (1981. Nova Music N.M. 195). Now available as a pdf from Instant Harmony.

Great practice material for all recorder players! A collection of Preludes and Voluntarys for solo alto recorder was published in England in DATE, arranged from sonatas and suites for other instruments. An edition of some this collection was published by Schott as long ago as 1950 and became a well-known source of solo material. This edition presents the remainder of the collection plus some extra preludes taken from publications of the time. I adjusted some of the pieces, based on the original versions, to make them more musical.
